A Life Well Lived!
Leslie C. Lynch (Les) was born in1950 in Illinois to Owen and Janet Lynch, the eldest of four children. He was gathered into the arms of his Heavenly Father July 2022. For over two years he battled cancer, but the cancer did not define him. Rather his experiences and accomplishments shaped his life. Les was a loving husband, a proud and dedicated father, an attentive son to his late parents, fun loving brother to his siblings, and someone who enjoyed his many friends. Les had a Biology degree from Drake University and a Master of Business Administration with a focus in Finance from DePaul University. He worked in the Food, Pharmaceuticals and Natural Color industry for many years. He loved his work, traveled in the U.S. and Europe, making friends wherever he went. Les and his wife lived in Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin and Colorado throughout the years. Les had many varied interests; skiing, hiking, sail boating, biking, fly fishing, British sports cars, stamp and coin collecting, nature conservation, reading, vegetable gardening, and building items with wood. And he loved his dog, usually a Labrador Retriever, who was his favorite hiking companion in retirement. Many a tall tale came from the adventures he and his dog shared exploring Colorado's San Juan Mountains and Utah deserts. Les believed in public service and giving back to his community. He was a counselor for many years in Boy Scouts of America. He had a keen interest to guide young men in preparation for adulthood. Nothing made him more proud than to see his son, Evan, achieve Eagle Scout and Order of the Arrow. Les enjoyed serving as treasurer to his community of Falls Creek Ranch, working with sawyer and chipper crews, and helping his wife with horse barn chores. Although he didn't especially enjoy riding horses he always encouraged her passion for horses and indulged her requests to vacation at a dude ranch or horse packing into the Yellowstone wilderness. Les had a strong faith in his Heavenly Father and was a parishioner at St. Mark's Episcopal Church of Durango, Colorado.
Les was preceded in death by his parents: Owen M. Lynch and Janet G. Webster Lynch.
