Genevieve Lutz-Hoskin

Genevieve Hoskin, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, in Lakewood, Colo. She was 83.

Genevieve was born January 2, 1928, in Stafford, Kan., to Walter and Wilma Scheib. She married Howard Lutz from St. John, Kan., and they moved to Durango with their daughter after coming here on vacation in the 50's. She worked at the Durango Public Library for 20 years.

After Howard's death in 1975, she married James Hoskin from Kansas. After a few years, they moved to Truth or Consequences, N.M. Jim died in 1999, and Gen moved to Lakewood, Colo., to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Dennis DePoyster, and two granddaughters and grandson-in-law, Lara, Christine and Josh Dragoo. She is also survived by her brother Bobby and his wife, Aloah, and nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, at Hood Mortuary Chapel, with burial following at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango.
