Doris Mae Lott from Pagosa Springs, Colorado passed away on Saturday May 14, 2022. Dorie was born in 1934 to John and Sere in Chicago, Illinois and grew up in Indianapolis. After high school she attended Wheaten College and graduated with a degree in administration. She went on to work in Colorado Springs for Jim Rayburn, the founder of Young Life, for 3 years. She met her lifelong husband, Kenneth Lott in 1959. They were married in April 1960 in Colorado Springs. Dorie and Ken moved to California in 1962. Dorie worked as an administrative assistant at Fuller Theological Seminary and then for many years at La Canada Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband Ken, son David and daughter-in-law Tina and their children Devon, Travis, and Kyle, and her daughter Linda and son-in-law Steve and their children Daniel and Matthew.
Dorie is remembered for her strong faith and walk with the Lord. She was a true prayer warrior and displayed amazing hospitality toward family and guests. Her Swedish heritage led to wonderful dinners, desserts, and long-standing traditions. She baked hundreds of dozens of cookies over the years and gave most of them away. She loved taking pictures and recording events that included family members and friends. After retirement to Colorado she and Ken lived in Pagosa Springs for 22 years. She greatly enjoyed the beauty of the town and the kind people, and frequently attended church and participated in Bible studies. She and Ken drove across the country numerous times to visit children and grandchildren in California and North Carolina. She enjoyed taking the backroads and viewing the landscape across the US. She will be missed by family and friends from across the country and leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion.
