Obituary for Tatum R. Logan

Ignacio resident Tatum Renee Logan, 36, died Sunday, February 12, 2012, at home.

Tatum was born January 9, 1976, in Phoenix, Ariz., the daughter of Edwin and Marlene Strickland. She grew up in Phoenix and she married her best friend, Jason Dean Logan, there on December 8, 1994.

She was an adventurous person who enjoyed the outdoors and horses. She loved children and was devoted to her husband and ten children. Her husband said, "She loved God and committed her life to Christian ministry -- sharing the love she had for God with others. She was always reading and studying God's word." She homeschooled her children and helped other women reach their potential. Her father remembers, "She was a fixer, always helping others with their problems."

Tatum is preceded in death by her brother, Cody Strickland.

She is survived by her husband, Jason, and her children Cheyenne, Colton, Justus, Wyatt, Bailey Jo, Gerrit, Hannah Mae, Daniel, Alliyah, and Mativah, all of Arboles, Colo.; father, Edward Strickland, mother, Marlene Strickland and sister, Cassidy Kohler, all of Chino Valley, Ariz.; seven nieces and nephews, sister-in-law, Erika Strickland, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and grandparents Vern and Betty Vrieze of Glendale, Ariz.

Memorial contributions may be made in Tatum Logan’s name to Ignacio Community Church, P.O Box 317, Ignacio, CO 81137.

Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012, at Pine River Valley Baptist Church in Ignacio. Her husband, Jason Logan, will officiate. A potluck will be held at the church after the service.
