Judith Llewellyn

Judith Ann Llewellyn passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at home in Durango. She was 81 years old.

Judith was born June 12, 1936, to Esmond and Alice Avery in Detroit, Michigan. Judy then moved to Biloxi Mississippi, Grosse Pointe, Michigan and then Omaha Nebraska where she graduated from Central High School. She attended Colorado College in Colorado Springs for two years and then CU Boulder. Judy and her late husband Larry met on a blind date while he was home on leave in the Air Force. She always said his good and caring nature and sense of humor captured her heart.

Judy's love of traveling was inspired by her parents who explored the world. Her love of the outdoors rang true throughout her life. Her passion was enjoying a cup of coffee while camping and then canoeing around the lake while fishing with her husband. Judy's favorite was being on a lake watching the sunset over the mountains. She also enjoyed tennis, swimming, and summers at her family's lake in Omaha. Family was very important to Judy and she cherished her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Susie Smith. Her children: Kathie Morris and her husband Wade and Jack Llewellyn and his wife Cherie; grandchildren: Matthew and Colby Morris, Avery Llewellyn; and Step-grandchildren: Blake and John Morris.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry, brother, Jack Avery and her parents.
A service will be held at Olinger, Crown Hill in Wheat Ridge, CO, on Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 11 am with a service to be announced in Durango at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Mercy in Durango or Children's Hospital of Colorado in Denver.
