Lillian Bodine (Bowden) passed away Friday, December 6th, 2024 at her home. She was born September 6th, 1950, at the old Mercy Hospital in Durango. When she was young her family moved to Boise, Idaho. A few years later they moved back to Oxford and lived on the family farm. Later in her teen years the family lived on East Animas Road (County Road 250).
Lillian graduated from the old Durango High School in 1968 and met her husband, Chuck Bodine, shortly before graduation. They were married October 20th, 1968, and were happily married 56 years.
Lillian is survived by her husband; a brother, William Bowden; a daughter, Nikol Hampton; and two sons, James Bodine and Scott Bodine; four grandchildren (Audra, Jarryn, Troy, Quincy); and 2 great grandchildren (Jeremy and Ashlyn).
She was an avid gardener, bowler, and always had a project she was working on, especially if it involved the little Kubota tractor. Lillian loved her family very much and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at her home in Bayfield at 1590 North Mountain View Drive on Saturday, December 21st from 2pm to 5pm. Please stop by and share your memories.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations in her name to Cancer Support Community Southwest Colorado (https://cancersupportswco.org/home/donate/).
