Virgil Ray Lewis passed away Friday, December 30, 2016, at home, surrounded by his family. He was 85 years old.
Known to all as Ray, he was born May 18, 1931, to Amos C. and Betty (Thompson) Lewis in New Mexico. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-56. He then worked in the oilfield, as a welder for Telluride Iron Works, and then started Lewis Brothers' Drilling.
He is survived by his wife, Mable Holt-Lewis, Daughters: Karen Lewis-Cady, Doreen Basye-Kastner, Loreen Albach-Johnson and Sarah Bauman
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017, at 10:00 am, at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Burial with military honors will follow at Crestview Cemetery.
