Lawrence John Millich was born on July 22, 1937 in Silverton, CO to Virginia Silva Millich and Emil Millich. Lawrence is survived by his children, Dedra, Diane and Scott, his grandchildren, Roger, Brittney, Ayla, Calvin, Dustin, Sophia and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 glorious years and counting, Arlene Ann Millich, eight siblings: Siprie, Grace, Betty, Ena, Pete, Gerald, Roger and Anothony.
Lawrence was a devoted husband and faithful Catholic who was always willing to help in the needs of the church. His faith formed his character as a husband, father and friend and his faith was a guiding instrument in his life.
He was a graduate of Ignacio, CO and was drafted into the Army after attending semester of college. In the military, he learned skills as a clerk that benefitted him into his business aspirations. After the military, he reunited with Arlene and they settled in the Ignacio area and then moved to the Denver area. He could not handle the city and his brother Pete went to Denver to help them move back home…Arlene was not too thrilled. After working for Safeway, he decided ranching was a way to support his family.
After one bad year in the business, Oscar Strain mentored our father to be a successful rancher/cowboy. Throughout his ranching career, he developed relationships and trust with local ranchers and eventually built his own real estate company, Ranch Finders Real Estate.
He succeeded at everything he put his mind to and shared the fruits of his labors with those in need and his family. He was a man that put great care to nurture his ranch dogs, horses and cows and hundreds of thirsty acres of alfalfa. HE WAS A COWBOY!
He loves the Denver Broncos and Steph Curry and the Warriors. We would catch him standing on the couch yelling at John Elway. He even told me if someone broke into his home Steph would save him. LOL!! I am pretty sure he never missed a sporting event his children participated in….he was our biggest fan.
Looking into his beep blue eyes you could feeling the love God has for His children. This kind of love is One of a kind and we are so very blessed to have had such a great example of a father, brother, husband, uncle and friend. Lawrence will be missed dearly and his kindness, generosity, and love will not be soon forgotten.
Larry, pops, father, Mr. Dinks, Sausage, Lorenzo…. “thank you, thank you, thank you!!”
