Obituary for Thomas W. Larmore

Thomas W. Larmore passed surrounded by his family on March 22nd, 2012.

Tom was born in 1936 and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska. He attended schools in both Alaska and Washington. After many years of government service he entered corporate America and left to pursue a career in music from 1976-1995. He loved traveling and spent a great amount of time exploring the U.S., Europe, the Far East, and everything outdoors. Tom raised his family in California and moved to Durango in 1988 with his wife, Deborah Steele. He deeply loved his family, his friends, his community, and all things in nature.

Dad was a good father, an ever-loving husband, a good friend, and a man of passion for life. He taught all that surrounded him to live in the present and not to take anyone or any moment in life for granted.

“They say everything can be replaced yet every distance is not near. So remember every face of every man who put me here, I see my light come shining from the west unto the east. Any day now, any day now I shall be released.” Bob Dylan

Tom is survived by his wife, Deborah Steele, and his three children: Natasha and her spouse, Narayan; Jonathan, and Katrina; brother, Sam, and his wife, Phyllis; and sister, Anne.

Our family would like to thank our father’s friends and the Durango community for the outpouring of warmth, kindness, and support. We will never forget it.
