Lloyd E. Landers died peacefully on August 31, 2015 of Parkinson’s Disease. Known as “Gene,” he was born October 1, 1927. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Calvert in WWII and the USS Bradford 545 during the Korean Conflict. Gene was the owner/contractor Riviera Tile Company in Redondo Beach, CA. After retiring in 1992, he moved to Durango, CO with his wife, Betty, whom he married on December 17, 1950 in Santa Barbara, CA. Together, they had 3 children.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of 64 years; his children: Jennie Coggins, William Landers and Timothy Landers; his 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Michael, Brant, Wade, Steven, Jacob, Theodore, Luke, Jacqueline and Kaylee as well as 6 great grandchildren.
Burial will take place at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado on September 21, 2015.
