Donald Roger Kuehl
Donald Roger Kuehl, 78, died Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colo. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango and private services will be held at a later date in New Mexico. Mr. Kuehl was born November 12, 1934 in Thorp, Wisconsin the son of August Albert and Madeline Bernice Kuehl. Mr. Kuehl grew up in Mendota, Ill. and he graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in mechanical engineering. He then married Elizabeth “Liz” Bulfer on February 7, 1959 in Sublette, Ill. They moved to Albuquerque, New Mex., where he was then employed for 35 years with Sandia National Laboratories. They had a home in Vallecito Lake, Colo. and grew to enjoy their time while in Colorado. He is survived by Elizabeth "Liz" Kuehl (spouse) of Vallecito Lake, Colo. and Albuquerque, New Mex., Janice Kuehl Wood (daughter) of Albuquerque, New Mex., 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, Dean Kuehl (brother) of Albuquerque, New Mex., and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughter Susan Lyn Kuehl, his son Gregory Alan Kuehl in 2010 and his brother William Kuehl.
