Kristen L. Hartzell

Kristen was born in Erie, PA; she graduated from Iroquois High School and attended Penn State University. A trip around the country with her family when she was six spurred a strong interest in traveling. She moved to Colorado in 1978; Bayfield has been her home for over 25 years. An avid reader she majored in journalism at Penn State, and wrote numerous articles for newspapers and travel magazines. Kristen was the Pine River Valley Bank's advertising specialist, as well as Region 9's Economic Development promotional coordinator for southwest Colorado. She was also a member of several local radio and TV stations in the Denver and Durango areas. Kristen is survived by her brothers Thomas and Douglas Hartzell. She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lorraine Hartzell.
