Frederick Louis “Rick” Krepser, III, 67, died Sunday, December 8, 2013 at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, December 13, 2013 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Krepser was born January 16, 1946 the son of Frederick and Lois (Brugere) Krepser, Jr. Known to friends as "Rick,” he grew up in Galveston, Tex. He lived and worked in various places in Texas but then he moved to Northern California where he had a small wood business. In 1986, Rick moved to the Durango area. He owned a candle shop in downtown Durango, called the "Candlestick Maker" and he later on had a business located near Wal-Mart called "Puperdog Sandblasting." Rick enjoyed to fly fish, golf and go to the horseraces in Farmington, New Mex. He was a gifted gardener and canned much of his crop. He enjoyed spending time with his many friends and enjoyed the splendor of Colorado. He is survived by Destiny Seeton (daughter) of Ben Wheeler, Tex., Kacey Krepser Barnes (daughter) of Humble, Tex., Kimberly Dawn Moravec (daughter) of Kingwood, Tex., Bonnie Moravec Owens (daughter) of Grapevine, Tex., Judy (Bud) Cochran (sister and brother-in-law) of Santa Fe, Tex., Cindy Lou Lane (sister) of New Braunfels, Tex., and numerous grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
