Obituary for
William Barry King
William Barry “Bill” King, 63, died Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at home in Silverton, Colorado. A Funeral Service will be Monday, July 28, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Silverton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will follow immediately at New Manassa Cemetery in Manassa, Colorado.
Mr. King was born May 20, 1951 in Cottonwood, Arizona, the son of Harry and Barbara King. He grew up and attended schools in Flagstaff, Ariz. and then he moved to Center, Colo., working at the local lumber yard and labored for farmers. Bill moved to Silverton, Colo. in 1982 where he worked at the Mayflower Mill. Bill moved to Ely, Nev., for about 2 years in the late 80s and returned to Silverton. He was currently working for the Town of Silverton.
Bill enjoyed hiking, reading, western movies and walked a lot. He was active in the LDS church in Silverton, but most of all he was loved and cherished by his nieces and nephew. Family was paramount in his life and he enjoyed catching up with his kin at family reunions.
He is survived by his father Harry E. King of Silverton, Sisters: Vicki Mahlios and Tammie Rhoades (Spouse Terry) of Silverton, Niece and nephew: Selene Breitinger (Spouse Scott), and Trent Rhoades (Spouse Chasity), Great-Nieces: Selene Rhoades and Patience Rhoades, and numerous cousins and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
