Jennifer Kennedy

Jennifer Dawn Kennedy, 39, died Sunday, November 11, 2012, at home in Durango, Colorado. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango, and a memorial service will be held for Jennifer on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the First Southern Baptist Church, 1715 W. 2nd Ave., where she was a member and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Jennifer was born May 7, 1973, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Jerry and Judy (Bagwell) Jones.

Jennifer and her parents moved to Durango in June of 1973, when she was just one month old. Jennifer loved Durango and she lived in Durango most of her life, graduating from Durango High School in 1991. Miss Kennedy was fortunate enough to live two years in Hawaii, returning to attend San Juan College, where she graduated with an Early Childhood degree. While living in Farmington, New Mexico, Jennifer went on a mission trip to work in an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, Africa. Recently, Jennifer was attending Southwest Colorado Community College and recently received her CNA certification in nursing and was presently attending more classes there.

Jennifer was always interested in children and serving others.

She is survived by her parents, Jerry and Judy Jones of Durango, her sister, Dawn and brother in law Terrance Terracino of Schriever, Louisiana, two nieces, a great niece and numerous aunts and uncles.

In lieu of flowers, a fund in her name has been established at First Southern Baptist Church.
