Juanita Virginia Potter

Juanita Virginia Potter, a gentle, loving, beautiful lady, passed away on October 15, 2024 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. She was born July 6, 1946 in Victoria Texas and was very proud to be a Texan. Juanita had an infectious smile, warm heart and loved meeting new people. She was extremely friendly and could carry a conversation with anyone she met.

She was blessed to be married to her loving husband, Ronald for over 60 years, one month shy of 61 years together. She loved her family with all her heart and would help anyway she could. She was supportive and always encouraged her family to follow their dreams and live life to the fullest.

Juanita moved to Delaware when she was 17 years old and newly married. It was a huge change in her life and she adjusted with ease. She lived in Smyrna, Delaware for 24 years before moving to colorado Colorado. Her and Ron would snowbird in Brownsville, Texas with their motorhome where they enjoyed the warmer weather activities.

She had many passions in life - including travel, sewing, gardening, crafting, reading, shopping, and playing with her two westies, just to name a few. Juanita enjoyed helping in her community. She was involved in several women's clubs in Delaware and Colorado. She especially loved travel - she was able to visit all 50 states and parts of Canada.

Juanita is preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Irene Ray, her father, John Albert Berridge, her sister, Lynn Wilson, and her beloved in-laws, Medford and Prunella Potter of Smyrna, Delaware.

She is survived by her loving husband Ronald M. Potter; her children, Marjorie Postell and her husband Thomas (Smyrna, DE.), Christine Lepore and her husband Michael (Highlands Ranch, CO); her sister, Barbara Woodcock and her husband, Alan (Sequim, WA); her grandchildren, Jennifer Field and her husband, Wesley (Smyrna, DE), Ronald Postell (Pittsburgh, PA), and Jessica Lepore (Highlands Ranch, CO); and her beloved Westies, Molly and Bella.

As we bid farewell to Juanita, we will reflect on the life lived with purpose and joy. She has left an indelible mark on hearts of those who love her and her spirit will continue to inspire us. Her memories will be treasured, her stories retold, and her love felt always.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the church of your choice or to an organization dedicated to improving animal lives, such as a resue or ASPCA to honor her memory. The family would also like to Thank all of those who have supported us through this immense family loss.
