Colleen James

Bayfield, CO - Colleen Mason James, 83, of Bayfield, Colorado, passed away September 14, 2022 at Mercy Hospice House from natural causes.
She was born November 6, 1938 in Central, Utah. Daughter of William Mark and Alvis Ruth Mason.
She married Milton Lavon James on June 7, 1957 and later sealed in the Boise Idaho temple. They had 2 sons, Gary Von (Connie) James and Dennis Mark (June) James.
Colleen loved cooking at hunting camps where Lavon was a hunting guide. They retired and settled in Challis, Idaho for several years. In 2012, they moved to Colorado, settling in Bayfield.
She is survived by their 2 sons and 8 grandchildren: Dustin (Lori) James, Mitch (Kari) James, Mickinly (Tad) James, Andy (Kristine) James, Anthony (Maira) James, Meagan (Hopper) Becker, Travis (Shannon) James and Tyler James. Colleen is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and her sisters Lorene and Carla.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Sherman and Kent, grandsons Ethan, Joseph, and Ian James, and 2 great granddaughters Benelle and Emma Hulme.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mercy Hospice House, 1 Mercado Street, Suite 270, Durango, CO, 81301. They have been wonderful to her and family.
The graveside services will be at Fayette Cemetery in Fayette, Utah.
