Obituary for William G. Jacobsen
William Gilbert Jacobsen, 18, died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, in Ignacio, Colo.
Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, 2011, at Hood Mortuary. A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, also at Hood Mortuary. There will be a reception at the Oxford Grange after the service.
Will was born January 26, 1993, in Aurora, Colo., the son of Richard and Beth Jacobsen. Throughout his young life, he lived in Castle Rock, Colo., Kirtland and Alamagordo, N.M., Pueblo, Colo., and finally in Durango and Ignacio since 2006. Will graduated from Ignacio High School and was in the process of making plans to attend college.
Friends were very important to Will. He was passionate about music and was an avid concert goer; he also enjoyed four wheeling and making his friends laugh. He was a hard working young man and one very important family member to Will was his dog, Luna.
He is survived by his father Rick Jacobsen of Ignacio, Colo., mother Beth Jacobsen of Pueblo, Colo., sister Brittanie Jacobsen of Pueblo, Colo., maternal grandparents Richard and Jane Gilbert of Cheyenne, Wyo., and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Alice Jacobsen and William Jacobsen.
Will would wish contributions to go to the La Plata County Human Society, 1111 S. Camino Del Rio, Durango CO 81303.
