Jack Gerold Ruggles born February 11, 1934 in Moffat, Colorado to Earl Ruggles and Mildred Elsie Baker.
Jack was the 5th of 8 children. Jack grew up in the San Luis Valley.
Jack served in Company “D” 2d battalion 9th Marines during the Korean War. He continued on as a reserve with honorable discharge on February 15, 1960.
Jack met Dorthy Feiock, wife of 66 years through his sister June and brother-in-law Clyde McDowell, and they were married on January 31, 1958. The first 31 years of their marriage they lived in Commerce City, Colorado. Upon retirement they moved to Bayfield, Colorado.
Jack passed away in his sleep at 3:15am on June 5, 2024.
He loved Dorthy, his family, friends and neighbors, he loved living in the mountains with a fire in his fireplace every night. He loved hunting, fishing, and was an avid Bronco fan his entire life, owning season tickets, and proudly attending two super bowls.
Jack is survived by his wife Dorthy Ruggles, children; Kathy (Larry) Bormuth of Cody, NE, Dale (Vanessa) Ruggles of Bayfield, CO, grandchildren; Derek (Leena Dowell) Johnston, Aaron (Sara) Johnston, Monica (Kurt Sinkler) Kittrell, Michael Born, Chad Ruggles, Sharlee (Ryan) Passey, great grandchildren; Addalynn, Raydin & Hadryan Begman, Logan, Lilly, Leah Crawford, Joshua Crawford, Drake, Rylee & Duke Passey
Jack was preceded in death by daughter Karen Johnston, his parents, seven sibling, and his brother that passed away at 11 months old in 1944, Loren (Buddy).
