Cory Ireland

July 7, 1987 — May 10, 2021

Cory Steven Ireland, of Durango, Colorado, lost his life in a tragic accident on May 10, 2021, while enjoying one of his favorite sports, dirt biking.
Cory, who “had to be the first,” was born on July 7, 1987 at 10:14 am to Patricia “Trish” Ann Ireland Arny and Steven Mark Ireland, followed by his twin sister, Caitlin, at 10:15 am. He never slowed down, not even in his sleep, his little legs moving as he dreamed. The only boy in a family of girls, Cory was spontaneous, with endless energy to rile up his sisters. Sisterly love won when they made Cory play dress up and painted his nails. He was absolutely the best brother. To everyone’s dismay, and despite living in Broncos Country all his life, Cory loved the Dallas Cowboys from a young age. Thankfully, he was an avid Rockies fan and loved seeing them play at Coors Field. A Durango High School graduate, he was known for his genuine smile, his friendships and love for his family. He spent his life in Durango enjoying fishing, mountain biking, dirt biking - anything outdoors.
He met his wife through a best friend, and after meeting, Angie and Cory were inseparable even when long distances kept them apart early in their relationship. His greatest adventure was his children. He enjoyed teaching Kaydence to BMX and Eli to fish. Cory was overjoyed with the recent arrival of their third child, Ronan, in April. His family was now complete, and he was so proud of the family he had created with Angie. He was a great father, exhibiting patience, yet always squeezing in any fun that could be had. Walks to the park as a family was routine, as were bike rides and swimming at the rec center. He loved his wife and his children unconditionally.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Gott Ireland, and their three children, Kaydence (6 years), Elias “Eli” (4 years), and Ronan (5 weeks) of Durango; his Mom and Pa, Trish and Julian Arny of Marvel, CO; and his four sisters, Amanda “Mandy” Miller of Denver, CO; Becca (Faraaz) Firdaus of Hopewell Junction, NY; Ema (Sebastian) Zito of Willamina, OR; and his twin sister Caitlin (Joseph) Havekost of Highlands Ranch, CO; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and more friends than we can count. He is preceded in death by his father, Steven Ireland; and grandmother, Nancy Knoll.
We will miss him immensely but know that he is at peace, and we will cherish many wonderful memories of him. A private burial service will be held at Greenmount Cemetery. Please contact the family for further details regarding the planned Celebration of Life (durango970snow@gmail.com).
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to support his wife and children. More information can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-cory-irelands-family. Éirinn go Brách ☘
