Charles “Chip” William Huntoon, beloved son of Charles and Elaine Huntoon, passed away August 4, 2014. He was 32 years old. Chip was born in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was a graduate of the Meadowbrook School and Wissahickon High School in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, and Fort Lewis College, in Durango, Colorado in 2004. His love of the outdoors originally brought him to Colorado and he started his business, CH Property Service in Durango, shortly after graduating from college. He was a self-starter and loved the challenge of growing his business and being an entrepreneur. Chip had a passion for life and enjoyed camping, biking, rafting, and skiing. His hobby was collecting antique toys and he amassed over 3,000 cars since he started collecting at the age of 8. He lived a life of unconditional generosity and sought to serve the people in his community, which he loved. He was a member of the La Plata County Search and Rescue, the Durango Chamber of Commerce, and the Daybreak Rotary Club. He is survived by his “other half” Emilie Benke, of Durango, his grandmothers Frances Huntoon of Pennsylvania and Helen Donoghue of New York, and he will be greatly missed by aunts Ellen Cursio, Kathy Donoghue, Stephanie Donoghue, and Linda Okarinski, uncles Michael Donoghue and Victor Huntoon, and cousins Lauren Brown, Jessica Hess, Christopher Donoghue, and Megan Donoghue.
