Cecelia Frances Humpy
Denver resident Cecelia Frances Humpy died Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in Englewood. She was two weeks shy of her 43rd birthday. The cause of death was not disclosed. Ms. Humpy was born to Jerry Humpy and Ellenette Watts on Aug. 16, 1970, in Pocatello, Idaho. She was their second youngest daughter. After growing up on the Southern Ute reservation in Ignacio, Ms. Humpy moved to Denver as a teenager. While in Denver, she was a homemaker and raised her four sons. “She adored being with them,” her family said. “She was a gifted artist, drawing beautiful flowers.” She also enjoyed music, dancing and reading. Miss Humpy is survived by her sons, Stephan Martinez, Alvin Martinez Jr., Justin Martinez and Nicholas Martinez, all of Denver; sisters Anna Watts of Ignacio, Melissa Pena of Englewood and Suzette Humpy of Denver; brother, Mitchell Watts, of Ignacio; and numerous extended family members. Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12, 2013, at the Southern Ute Memorial Chapel, 258 Ute Road. A funeral will take place immediately afterward at 10 a.m., also at the chapel. Deacon Larry Tucker will officiate. Burial will occur at the Ouray Memorial Cemetery in Ignacio.
