Obituary for Paula Howe

Paula Gail Howe, 51, died Wednesday, April 2, 2014 in Alamosa, Colorado. A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Father Damian de la Cruz-Nunez of St. Ignatius Catholic Church will be officiating. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango.
Ms. Howe was born in Plainview, Tex., the daughter of Paul Simon and Virginia Velasquez. When Paula was a child, she grew up in Odessa, Tex. The family moved to Aztec, New Mex. and Paula attended schools there. Upon graduation, she worked various jobs in New Mexico. She was married and began raising her family, for whom she cared for and adored all her life.
Paula enjoyed motorcycles, traveling through Colorado and was known for her intelligence. "She will always be remembered for her caring spirit and was a beautiful daughter, mother and grandmother," fondly recall her family.
She is survived by Virginia Velasquez (mother) of Ignacio, Daniel Lovato (son) of Ignacio, CO, Richard Lovato (son) of Hawaii, David Lovato (son) of Ignacio, CO, Tiffany Howe (daughter) of Ignacio, CO, Tahseeanna Scheib (daughter) of Bloomfield, New Mex., Chonda Howe (daughter) of Ignacio, CO, Walter Howe (son) of Aztec, New Mex., 30 grandchildren, 7 great grandchilden and one more “on the way”.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Don Howe in 2010 and her father.
