“Bud” Raymond C Hansen passed away on November 26 Of Congestive Heart Failure. He was 70
Bud was born June 1, 1945 to John Frank and Frieda Rohrig Hansen in Glenwood Springs, CO. He grew up on Divide Creek near Silt, CO. In his teens, his Family moved to Denver, where he attended Lake Jr. High and Graduating from West High School in 1963. In 1965, he enlisted in the Navy. Doing several tours in Viet Nam. He was Honorably discharged in 1969 after serving on the USS Tortuga and The USS Mulany.
In August of 1969, he met the Love of his life Linda Wakeley. They were married 6 months later in January of 1970. They had 2 sons Jason and Daniel.
In 1976, the family moved to Rifle, CO, where he worked for White and Sons Construction as a heavy equipment operator and Foreman. After the oil shale bust, the family moved to Durango, where he worked in concrete pumping for Western Slope concrete Pumping and O’Brien Concrete Pumping. A short time later he owned and operated Buds’ Concrete Pumping. After selling the business in 1990, he worked for Sandco and then WESODI, retiring in 2010.
Buds passions in life were first and foremost his family. He loved working on his land and Motorcycling. He was Santa for the Toy Runs through ABATE.
Bud leaves behind his wife of 45 years, 2 Sons, Jason of Buena Vista and Daniel (Erin) of Bayfield, 7 Grandchildren, a brother Robert (Cindy), sister Linda Hilverding, and Many Aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews and many, many great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brother John and a Granddaughter Larkin.
As per his wishes, no services are planned. Cremation will occur.
