Macel M. Hahn
Macel M. Hahn died Tuesday, August 9, 2011, in Bayfield, Colo. She was 74.
Mrs. Hahn was born May 15, 1937, in Pueblo, Colo., the daughter of Ben and Marge McDowell. As a young lady, she worked at the Diamond Belle Saloon in Durango as a waitress, and later as a clothing salesperson until retirement.
Mrs. Hahn was active in all aspects of her life. She was the drive behind Toys for Tots for many years. She was also a member of the Florida Aspen Club and Emblem Club. Her social calendar was full of Pine River Senior Center activities. She loved dining out and collecting things. Macel will be remembered for her larger-than-life laugh and her love of hats.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jim Hahn. She is survived by sons Les Hahn and wife Judy, and Rick Hahn and wife Linda, all of Bayfield; daughter Lori Huisman and husband Chris of Durango; grandchildren Kevin Schultz, Cindy Elvidge, Marshall Hahn, Ashley Hahn, and Nick Green; and great-grandchildren Morgan and Brian Elvidge, Nathan, Keaton, Landon, Easton and Cooper Hahn, Lucius Green and another grandchild due any day.
A graveside service will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011, at Oxford Cemetery, and a reception will follow at the Pine River Senior Center at noon.
