Stephen Keith Goff passed away at his home in Durango, surrounded by his family, on August 17, 2016 after an 8 month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Stephen, 63, born in Russellville IN, graduated from DePauw University, earned a Master’s of Geology at Louisiana State University, then a Master’s of Business Administration from Denver University. Stephen’s career in the oil and gas industry took him around the world. His career culminated with a decade of service as the Chief Financial Officer of Red Willow Production Company in Ignacio, CO.
Stephen took an active role in his sons’ lives by coaching their numerous youth sports teams. He also enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors, and was an avid fly fisherman sharing his passion with his two sons and his wife. Stephen volunteered with Trout Unlimited, serving on the Board of Directors of the Five Rivers’ Chapter of TU in Durango for four years.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Mary Ann Goff; his son and daughter-in-law, Nathan and Diana Goff, grandson Will of Houston, TX; son Derek Goff and soon-to-be daughter-in-law Alianna Williams also of Houston; his mother Maxine Stout and stepfather Julian Stout of Roachdale, IN; his sister Cynthia Demmon of Denver, CO; stepmother Shirley Goff of Crawfordsville, IN; half-brother Gregg Goff of Brownsburg, IN; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father Keith Owen Goff.
A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Durango, 2917 Aspen Dr., on October 8, 2016 at 10:30 AM.
