Obituary for
Dennis Wade Gibble
Dennis Wade Gibble, 71, died Thursday, July 24, 2014 in Durango, Colorado. Services will be announced at a later date.
Mr. Gibble was born April 12, 1943 in Denver, Colorado, the son of Floyd and Lucille Gibble. He grew up in Durango and graduated from Durango High School in 1961. Dennis attended the Denver Institute of Art and was certified as a graphic artist.
He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and served in Korea. He returned home to Durango and attended Fort Lewis College and obtained a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.
Dennis was an active member of the B.P.O.Elks Lodge #507 in Durango. He was the secretary of the Lodge for 23 years and participated in much of the benevolence the lodge provided to Durango. He retired from the Durango Police Department after serving 17 ½ years in the records department.
Dennis was an avid golfer, and a professional sports enthusiast.
He is survived by his wife Judy Gibble of Durango, a daughter, Desiree Gibble of Aurora, Colo., a sister, Linda Mrazek of Yuma, Ariz., and 8 grandchildren and one great-grandbaby on the way!
He was preceded in death by his father Floyd, his mother Lucille.
