Jerry Don Fry
Jerry Don Fry, 62, died Monday, February 17, 2014. A Memorial Service will be Friday, February 21, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Mr. Fry was born September 15, 1951 in Sweetwater, Texas the son of Charles and Dora Fry. Jerry grew up in Ft. Worth, Tex. and at the age of 17, began to work in heating and air conditioning. He became a truck driver, hauling items related to air compression but then he eventually moved to the Durango area in 1987. He worked well with his hands and was a great carpenter. He built exceptional bird houses and also practical household furniture. He was a "gamer" and enjoyed the game Dungeons and Dragons. He was a good cook, enjoyed watching Westerns and considered John Wayne his "hero." He also liked to listen to the music of the Beach Boys and he had countless stories and experiences traveling in the Colorado high country. He is survived by Jesse Fry (son) of Durango, Yovonne Neuenschwander (daughter) of Durango, Charley Fry (brother) of Durango, Vickie Fry (sister) of Cortez, Grandchildren: Zarann Neuenschwander, Tivonne Neuenschwander, Nico Neuenschwander, Emany Fry, Alexandra Neuenschwander, Amina Fry and his Great Granchildren: Zion and Cayden Simons. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Susie Fry and Charlene Fry and his brother, Ronnie Fry.
