Obituary for
Troy P. Frame
Durango native Troy Parker Frame passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012, of natural causes in Marvel, Colo. He was 90 years old.
Troy Frame was born January 11, 1922, in Durango, Colo., to Russell and Ora Kimsey Frame. He resided most of his life just outside of Durango in Breen, Colo. At 19, Troy joined the Army and served as a medic in France. Upon his return, he married Melba Cundiff, and they had two children, Dennis and Kathy. Troy worked for La Plata County and helped build many roads we all use today. After a brief stint in construction outside of the Durango area, Troy returned and worked 16 years for the State Highway Department, from which he retired.
Troy enjoyed fly fishing, hunting elk and deer, horse pack trips and being in the mountains. But most of all Troy loved spending time with his family. He was a staple at state high school rodeos, where he lovingly picked up the nickname "feller." He cheered on and supported his grandkids in rodeo and could bring a smile to anyone's face.
Troy is survived by Melba, his wife of 58 years, children Dennis Frame of Aztec, N.M., and Kathy Crangle of Breen, Colo., a sister, Myrna Easley, five grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. “Troy will be sorely missed as he was well loved,” recall his family.
Visitation will occur from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, September 14, 2012, at Hood Mortuary Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Pine River Cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Dan Straw will officiate.
