Taylor Alan Folmar
Taylor Alan Folmar, 26, passed away on Wednesday April 17th, 2013 at his home in Durango, Colorado. The cause of death is undetermined. Taylor was born in Midland, Texas on August 2nd, 1986 to Kenneth and Rene Folmar. Taylor graduated from Montezuma-Cortez High School and attended Fort Lewis College. Taylor was a jack of all trades at Randy’s Restaurant from 2005 until they sold in February of 2013. He waited tables, tended bar, and was a chef. Taylor helped take MCHS’s Marching Band to Nationals in 2005, he was a drummer. He was a member of Durango’s Hockey Community since 2006. Taylor played on 6 different teams in the area. He was a goalie. Taylor loved United States history, music, hockey, and reading. He had an adventurous spirit and a passion for the Rockies. He loved taking long camping trips, visiting new places and learning about new cultures. He was a devoted Colorado Avalanche fan, as well as an elite hockey goalie himself. He is survived by his sister, Rachel R. Folmar, of Farmington; his father Kenneth Folmar, Yantis, TX; paternal grandparents, Virginia and Ken Folmar; Yantis, TX; maternal grandparents, Robert and Shirley Taylor; Eugene, OR; niece, Aspen J. Folmar; Nephew, Ayden O. Michael and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at 3pm, Sunday May 5th at the Chapman Hill Hockey Rink in Durango, Colorado.
