Richard Lynn (Rick) Fisher passed away on August 31, 2014, at his home in Durango, Colorado. He was born on November 28, 1944 in Mishawaka, Indiana to Charles and Evelyn (Stanley) Fisher.
Rick grew up in Mishawaka, Indiana, graduating from Mishawaka High School in 1963. After high school he attended Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. In 1965 he joined the Navy and served for 4 years on the aircraft carrier, USS Shangri-La. After the service, he returned to Ball State University.
Rick worked for various companies as a photographer and in sales. In later years he had a mortgage company in Denver. He retired in 2003 before moving to Tucson, Arizona.
Rick married Sue Harrison on August 23, 1975 in Lakewood, Colorado, happily celebrating 39 years of marriage. He was a member of Center for Spiritual Living in Tucson where he served as Board President. He enjoyed photography, bicycles, hiking, cooking, and music.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Evelyn.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Aaron Sanford; daughter, Kirstin (Arthur) Brown, all of Durango; brother, Todd (Sue) Fisher of South Bend, Indiana; grandchildren, Will and Arilyn Brown; Aunt, Lois (Don) Ryno of Mishawaka, Indiana; brothers-in-law, Phil Harrison of Olathe, Colorado, Garry (Dolores) Harrison of Woodland Park, Colorado, Bob Lauth and Don Schlichting, both of Durango, Colorado; sister-in-law, Claudia (Jim) Anesi; former wife, Leslie Sanford of Grand Rapids, Michigan and many wonderful nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on September 6, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 419 San Juan Dr., Durango, Colorado. (Across from Needham Elementary)
