Debra Ann Ballard Farley, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, died on September 28, 2018 surrounded by her family. Debbie was born on December 3, 1953 in Missoula, Montana. She married her high school sweetheart, Martin Farley on February 19, 1972 and have been married for over 46 years. Debbie and Marty moved to Durango in June 1992 and knew that they had found a small piece of Heaven. Debbie worked alongside her husband in their family appraisal business, Farley & Associates, Inc. She loved spending time with her family, especially her precious grandchildren. In August 2015 she was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer. Debbie went through chemo, radiation and several operations. Debbie had won the fight with cancer until May 2018 when the cancer returned with a vengeance.
Debbie enjoyed her children and her grandchildren, especially during the holidays. She loved to bake cookies with her grandchildren, making this a tradition, early on. She loved taking pictures, enjoyed crocheting, scrapbooking and any kind of craft activities. She enjoyed teaching her granddaughters how to bake and cook.
Debbie made history when she became the first Lady Exhalted Ruler in Durango's Elk Lodge #507 for the year 2009-2010, which opened the door for other women over the years.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Martin Farley; her children: Brandie (Michael) Flann, Stephanie (Damian) Marcum, Martin "Brent" (Krystin) Farley, and James (Jenny) Farley and her 9 grandchildren, Garrett, Brandon, Justin, Cameron, Dawson, Sasha, Landon, Marissa and Liam.
A celebration of life will be held at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 E. 3rd Ave., Durango on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 10am.
