Etta Faye Day

Etta Faye Day, born August 20, 1938, earned her wings on December 30, 2022 in Pagosa Springs, CO, at the age of 84.

She was born at home in Garland County, Arkansas to Roy and Tessie Cosby, the second of thirteen children.

Etta Faye married Paul Alfred Day on December 27, 1953 at her home in Jessieville, Arkansas. They lived in Pagosa Springs all of their married life where they ran Day Lumber and raised their family. They were blessed with four children: Paulette (Raymond) Hise, Rocky (Kelli) Day, Tracy (Greg) Lucero, and Ben (Sherri) Day. They were also blessed with six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Etta Faye was preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul, and several siblings.

Services will be Thursday, January 5th, 2023 at Pagosa Bible Church (209 Harman Park Drive, Pagosa Springs) at 10:00am. Interment will be beside her husband at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango, CO at 2:30pm. Pallbearers are Rocky Day, Ben Day, Raymond Hise, Daniel Hise, Nathan Davis, Jake Wills, Trinity Jacobs, and David Hoffman. Honorary Pallbearers are Jack Eaklor, Ronnie Maez, Connie Langseth, Karen Curia, Cindy Laner, Jess and Casey Ketchum, Gilbert and Nancy Davidson, Easton and Austin Wills, Javan and Jayda Davis, Brayden Jacobs.

Mom was a devoted Christian, guiding her children in a loving and caring way of life.

The family would like to thank her caregivers: Connie, Karen, Cindy, and grandchildren Beth, Trinity, Shelby, and David.
