Obituary for Albert M. Esparza
Albert M. Esparza passed away on October 11, 2011, at Four Corners Heath Care Center in Durango. He was 88.
He was born on November 15, 1922, to Andres and Rita Esparza in El Paso, Texas. Albert was a United States Army Veteran and a longtime resident of Ignacio, Colo., where he worked for the BIA as a mechanic. He then owned and operated the Phillips 66 service station until he retired.
Albert had 12 brothers and sisters and is survived by his sons and daughters: Alice Baker, Daynakaye Esparza, James Esparza, Tina Valdez, Albert L. Esparza, Tomas Esparza, Eddie Esparza, Danny Esparza, Erlinda Bonnin, and Judy Duran. Albert also had 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
A private family mass was held on Wednesday October 12, 2011, at St. Ignatius Church in Ignacio, Colorado, officiated by Father Douglas Hunt.
