Edwin James "Ed" Smith

Edwin James “Ed” Smith, 52, of Durango died November 20, 2022, surrounded by his family.

He served two tours as an Army medic and bomb technician in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He was kind hearted and always willing to lend a hand. He looked for the fun in life, but was a stubborn red head. He loved fishing and spending time with his family and he was always very proud of his daughters.

Ed is survived by his wife Elizabeth; three daughters: Ryan Riffle, Haley & Josephine Smith; father Larry (Pat) Smith; and brother Shawn Smith.

There will be a memorial service held for Ed at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 E. 3^rd Avenue, Durango.
