Buckley Eachus

Buckley Tillman Eachus, 81, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Durango, Colo. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Missouri.

Mr. Eachus was born October 4, 1929, in Denver, Colo., the son of Gerald and Viola (Barnett) Eachus. Mr. Eachus grew up in Colorado but spent most of his life in St. Louis, Mo. In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, and when he finished his military tenure, he worked for Cummins Missouri Diesel for 38 years as a diesel mechanic and later as a partsman. He retired when he was 65 and then traveled between St. Louis, Denver and Durango.

He is survived by son Terry Joe Eachus of Dutch Harbor, Alaska; daughter Shelly Korte of Durango, Colo.; son Donald Ray Eachus of St. Louis, Mo.; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and sister Betty Dofing of St. Peters, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his wife Lorine Eachus, sisters Geraldine O'Mellan, Dixie Stedman, Barbara Gray, Evelyn Eachus and his brothers Leslie Eachus and Ervin Eachus.
