Obituary for Efren L. Dorame
Efren L. Dorame, 65, of Pagosa Springs, Colo., peacefully flew to heaven on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.
A resident of Pagosa Springs for 38 years, Efren is survived by his daughter, Elaine Dorame of San Diego Calif.; daughter Mia Anstine and husband Hank of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; granddaughter Lea Leggitt of Pagosa Springs; girlfriend Catherine DeCory; former wife Paula Dorame of Pagosa Springs; Sister Frances Yokum of Fallbrook, Calif.; sister Gloria Garcia of Fallbrook, Calif.; aunt Tina Fitzpatrick of Chula Vista, Calif.; uncle Eleazar “Al” Mendoza of San Diego, Calif.; uncle Daniel Mendoza of Littleton, Colo.
Efren is preceded in death by his son Efren “Bubba” Dorame; by his mother, Manuelita “Nellie” Hutton; by his brother Robert “Bobby” Dorame; by his grandfather Eleazar Mendoza; by his grandmother Francisca Mendoza; by his uncle Louie Mendoza.
Services for Efren will be held in Pagosa Springs, Colo., with Father Don presiding. Please come to honor him with a Vigil and recitation of the Rosary Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at 6 p.m. at the John Paul II Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 10 a.m. at the John Paul II Catholic Church.
The family would like you to share lunch with them directly after services at the Parish Hall down town. Lunch will be pot luck. Please bring your favorite dish.
Following lunch we invite you to attend the dispersing of ashes at the point above Juanita on CR 500. There will be prayer and song. Directly after there will be a celebration of life.
Efren was a home builder, a coach and a mentor. He was known as a free spirit and was a man who lived life his way. An entertainer, a jokester, lover of music and cars; he lived life with no regrets. He was a friend to everyone he met and those who were lucky enough to meet him were blessed.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested you submit a memorial in his name at the Catholic Church. Prayers for Efren will be continued for nine months as well as on his anniversary of being called to be with the Creator.
