Donald "Donnie" Mestas

Donnie Mestas (77) humble servant of God, died peacefully surrounded by his family in Starkville, MS. He will be buried in Southern CO.

Donnie was devoted to faith, family, and tradition.  He was an inspirational teacher to many in the classroom and everywhere he went.  He was sincere and honest, a model of compassion, kindness, generosity, and great faith.

Together with his devoted wife, they modeled the values of a strong Christian marriage, an inspiration to all.  His life left a mark on many, and he will be deeply missed.

A rosary will be prayed Tues. July 11th, 2023 at 9:30am, at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Ignacio CO, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 am, officiated by Fr. Cesar Arras.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Hood Mortuary in Durango, CO.

A memorial Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in West Point, MS, on Sat. July 15th, 2023 at 10am, officiated by Reverend Binh Nguyen.
