Darell Grant Darnell

Darell Grant Darnell, a loved father, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 5th, 2023, in Mancos, Colorado. He was 77 years old.

Born to Orville Grant Darnell and Ruth Benton on September 18th, 1947, who have both preceded him in death. Darell was an example of strength and resilience to all who knew him. 

Darell is survived by his children, Brady Michael Darnell, Damon Grant Darnell, and Ashley Marie Darnell. He also leaves behind his siblings, Donald Darnell, Daniel Darnell (and wife Bethany Darnell), and Eileen Darnell.

Darell's family extends to his nieces and nephews, including Chesney (Frazier) Zubia, Nicole (Darnell) Bunch, Wendy Darnell, Scott Darnell, Derrick Darnell, Bruce Frazier, and Colby Frazier along with his beloved grandnieces and grandnephews. His ex-wives Bethany Lambrecht and Kathy Darnell continued to care for and support him through his late life. He was also deeply connected to his life-long friend, Edward Linderholm and his family, who shared countless cherished moments with him.

Known for his hardworking nature, his willingness to give to those he saw as most in need, and his stubbornness, Darell touched the lives of many. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A celebration of Darell's life will be held at a later date in July 2025, in Mancos Colorado, where family and friends will gather to honor his legacy and share their memories. 

He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
