Kyle Dean Cornett of Durango passed away August 17th, 2015 in Los Angeles, CA. He was 26.
Kyle was born March 14th, 1989 in Flagstaff AZ, to Ron and Teri Cornett. The family moved to Durango in September 1990. Kyle attended Florida Mesa Elementary and Escalante Middle School. He graduated in 2007 from Durango High School and then completed 1 year at Fort Lewis College. Kyle went on to Mesa State University and graduated from the Southwest Law Enforcement Academy in 2013. He followed his dreams in the music industry and graduated from the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Science in Phoenix, AZ in April 2015. He completed his internship in Los Angeles, CA in August 2015 and was pursuing career opportunities. Kyle loved music, movies, and family. He will be missed by all.
He is survived by Ron and Teri Cornett of Durango; siblings: Kevin Cornett of Durango attending Fort Lewis College, Matthew Cornett and Jami (Chas) Spradlin of Tulsa, OK; Grandparents: Bob and Bette Cornett of Muskogee, OK; Uncle Bobby and Aunt Dena Cornett of Muskogee, OK; Aunt Tammy Steele of Tulsa, OK; Uncle Jeff and Aunt Coleen Wood of Missoula, MT; Uncle Dale and Aunt Denise Wood of Big Water, UT; Aunt Heidi Wood of Beaverton, OR and multiple cousins.
Visitation will take place Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 1:00pm - 5:00pm, at Hood Mortuary Chapel, 1261 E. 3rd Ave., Durango. A graveside service will be held at Greenmount Cemetery, 900 Cemetery Road, Durango on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 10am, with Brother Gary Hardin officiating.
