Nadine Yvonne Clegern, 81, of Pagosa Springs, Colorado, passed away on December 07, 2020 at Pine Ridge Extended Care.
Nadine was born to Nathan and Cora (Michaelson) Olson on April 4, 1939 in Madison, Minnesota. She was raised there and graduated from Madison High School. She obtained a college degree at the University of Minnesota in 1961 and in 1963 received her Master’s Degree in Library Services. As a young woman, she lived in Germany and traveled throughout Europe. She returned to the States in 1968 and lived in Southern California where she met and married William Clegern in 1972. She was married in Japan. The year after, they moved to Manchester, Connecticut, where Nadine lived for 39 years, having been widowed in 2000. She moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 2012 and then moved to Pagosa Springs, Colorado in 2019 to be close to family.
Nadine enjoyed traveling, playing bridge and spending time meditating. She was a spiritual teacher and clairvoyant. She devoted a large part of her adult life to the ways and teachings of Sri Satya Sai Baba and was instrumental in bringing his message to this county. She published a monthly newsletter, “Education IN Human Values”, which had international circulation. In keeping with her love of travel, she sojourned many times to India.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sister Connie. She is survived by her sister Jeanne Vaala of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; her brother Clair Olson of Madison, Minnesota; her nieces and nephews: Daniel (Elizabeth) Vaala of Story, Wyoming; Erik (Leann) Eiben of Auburn Township, Ohio; Julie (Gary) Noland of Pagosa Springs, Colorado and Jennifer (William) Bell of Lakeville, Minnesota.
