Frank Clark

Frank R. Clark was born July 15, 1928 in Coffeyville, KS, the son of Frank R. Clark and Caroline H. Clark (Denison). He attended schools in Coffeyville, KS and graduated from Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, OK as an Airline Meteorologist. He worked as a meteorologist with Braniff Airlines from 1948 to 1971. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He married Jo Ann Merchant on January 12, 1952.
In 1971, Frank and Jo Ann moved to Durango, CO and established Durango Marking Equipment which he operated until 1992. Their son continues to own and operate the family business. Upon his retirement Mr. Clark and his wife lived and traveled in an RV spending summers in Durango and winters in Yuma, AZ. In 1996 they bought a home in Clifton, CO, where they lived until Jo Ann Clark died in 2000. He is preceded in death by his wife, two daughters and a grandson.
Survivors include a son Frank T. Clark and wife Kim, Sister Caroline Miller of Denver, CO and numerous nephews and nieces.
Mr. Clark enjoyed traveling in their motor-home and anything to do with airplanes and aviation. He earned his Private Pilots License in 1946.
A graveside service will be held Friday, May 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Greenmount Cemetery.
