Dale Owen Butt, son of Ruth M. Wells (Butt) and the late Virgil H. Butt died peacefully and of natural causes on April 10, 2015 in his home in Colorado.
Dale was born in Janesville, WI, December 21, 1950.
He graduated from McFarland High School and obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Luther Collage in Decorah, IA.
Lover of nature and dogs, Dale has resided in Durango, Colorado for the past 45 years. He had many opportunities in his life adventure. He owned the Nugget Cabin, a beautiful rental cabin located in the Upper Animas Valley and Nugget Towing. Dale was also a property manager; jack of all trades for many local properties, mined for ore, fought forest fires and taught slalom skiing at Purgatory Ski Resort, just to name a few of many exciting careers.
Even though Dale was miles away from his immediate family, he never lost touch or stayed away too long. His family would visit him in Colorado and he had many visits back to Wisconsin, keeping the bond firm.
Those left to carry on: his mother Ruth (Howard) Wells of Arizona; sister Diane (Lowell) Christensen of Texas; sister Linda (Nate) Nanninga of Indiana; sister Sandra (Tim) Southworth of Wisconsin; brother Mark (Cheryl) Butt of Wisconsin; sister Mary (Glen) Hembel of Wisconsin; 3 nieces; 7 nephews; 4 grand nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and his true companion and partner, his dog Keita; as well as his Colorado family (many friends and neighbors).
Dale was preceded in death by his father Virgil Herman Butt; both maternal and paternal grandparents.
A celebration of his life service will be held in Wisconsin at a later date.
