Hunter Gauge David Brassard "Thunder" was born on April 27, 1999 and passed on January 20, 2018 at the age of 18. He was born and raised in Ignacio and Bayfield, Colorado.
Hunter was a light-hearted, kind spirit. He enjoyed the company of others and lived his life to the fullest. He was a true resident of Colorado and indulged in all the recreational benefits the state has to offer. He always had something kind to say to people. Hunter received his GED and planned on going to school to become a barber. He loved being around his friends and family. He was a kind-hearted person that always put others before himself. He enjoyed video games, eating at McDonald’s, and driving around while listening to music. He was well known for his fashionable style. Hunter will be missed by all who knew him.
Hunter is survived by his three siblings, Jontique Velasco of Ignacio, Jacob Velasco of Bayfield, and Roger Brassard Jr. of Ignacio; grandmother Phyllis Escalanti of Bayfield; grandmother Joan Arellano of Durango; father Roger Brassard Sr. of Durango; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephew; and best friends Dathan and Rhemedio Lovato of Ignacio.
He is preceded in death by his mother Lucinda Rael of Ignacio; grandfather Fernando Rael of Ignacio; great- grandmother Mary Box Chavez of Bayfield; great-grandfather Ollie Chavez of Bayfield; and Grandfather David Brassard Sr. of Ignacio.
Services will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Maranatha Baptist Church in Ignacio, CO. Hunter will be laid to rest at Pine River Valley Cemetery in Bayfield.
