Caralina Borland

June 26, 1981 — August 11, 2015

Cara was born in Albuquerque New Mexico to Erik Borland and Patti (Borland) Dedrick. In 1985, the family, now including twins Jake and Kelsie, returned to Colorado. Growing up as a Durango girl, she was drawn to the mountains and any body of water she could dive into. She loved music and was a beautiful dancer. Her ability to connect with others made her a natural in the hospitality industry and she was loved by co-workers and guests alike. Cara's legacy is her compassion for the world around her and those in it. The tremendous community response to her passing is proof that she loved strong and her love lives on.
Cara was preceded in death by her father Erik and Grandfather- Chuck Southcotte. Survivors include: Jake and Kelsie Borland, Steve Dedrick- who she called her other dad, Grandparents Joan Southcotte, Gloria and Lou Borland, Maynord and Betty Dedrick along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Cara's life will be held at the First Presbyterian Church on Saturday, September 12th at 11:00am. Following the service, join the family for a potluck picnic in Pioneer Park (37th & North Main) at 1:00. Bring your favorite dish, a chair and memories.
