Obituary for
Guenther W. Bizer
Bayfield resident Guenther William Bizer, 75, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2012, after a very short illness. He is survived by numerous cousins in Germany. A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Bayfield. Burial will occur at Pine River Cemetery in Bayfield.
Guenther was a great man, maybe not in stature, but in compassion and generosity he was huge. He retired after 28 years of service for British Airways. He served as Passenger Service Supervisor at Kennedy Airport. He was a great skier and an avid hiker. During his hikes, he would contemplate the wonders of Nature. On his routine walks around his neighborhood in Bayfield, he always had the time to talk to the neighbors and give a pat to the dogs.
Guenther was dedicated to his Lord at First Baptist Church in Bayfield, Colo. He regularly helped those who were in need, was a source of great encouragement, and served almost daily in the construction of a new church building. Guenther was the consummate gentleman. He will be greatly missed by many, especially his former coworkers at British Airways. Ciao, Guenther!
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Bayfield, P.O. Box 50, Bayfield, CO 81122.
