Luella Berry

Luella Faye Berry, 85, of Durango passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Four Corners Health Care Center in Durango. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Earl Caudill will officiate. Burial will take place at Greenmount Cemetery.
Luella was born November 17, 1928 in Durango, to Benjamin Legill, Sr. and Viola Woods Legill.
For several years, she worked at the Woolworth's candy counter and the Needham Elementary School cafeteria. Luella liked to roller skate, work on word search puzzles and enjoyed playing cards. And when her children participated in sports, Luella was their biggest supporter and attendee.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Striley Berry; son, Ronald Fry; brother, Benjamin Legill, Jr and sister, Frances Clarke.
She is survived by son, Everett (Diane) Berry of Aztec, New Mex. and daughter, Sheryl Furtado of Bloomfield, New Mex. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren: Rose Berry of Farmington, New Mex., Sam Berry of Lineville, Ala., Danielle Furtado of Bloomfield, New Mex., Daniel Furtado, Jr. of Arizona, Terry Hicks of Atlanta, Georgia, Lauren Kirby of Farmington, NM and Nicole Golding of Aztec, New Mex. and 5 great grandchildren: Gabriel Furtado of Bloomfield, New Mex., Solana Golding of Aztec, New Mex., Jaxon Golding of Aztec, New Mex., Lexi Kirby of Farmington, New Mex., and Serena Hicks of Florida.
