Jerry Floyd Barth
JERRY FLOYD BARTH, has seen his Savior face to face. He departed this life on November 3, 2013, at the age of 57, after a long battle of cancer. A memorial service will be Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 3:00 P.M. at Hood Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Dan Straw will be officiating. Cremation will occur at Hood Mortuary Crematory in Durango. Jerry was born in Houston, Texas on October 20, 1956 to Shirley (Burr) and Ray Barth. Jerry spent 40 years of his life in the oilfield both on land and offshore. It was what he loved when he was not spending time with family and friends. Jerry is survived by his son, John Ruch and wife Stacy of Knoxville, TN, Adam Ruch of St. Petersburg, FL, Matthew Barth and wife Schae of Durango CO and Abigail Barth of Durango, CO. He is also survived by his mother, Shirley Barth and sister, Jana McDermott and her husband David, two grandchildren, John and Bailey, along with a host of friends and family. Jerry lived a very blessed life. When he was not hunting with his son, he loved watching his daughter dance and listening to her music. He loved to spend the weekends grilling and with visiting friends. He had a passion to travel and loved meeting new people and seeing new sites. Jerry was never afraid of dying. He knew where his home was. Jerry will long be remembered for his favorite quote, “"Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez"!
