Ethel L. Barger (Allen)
Ethel Barger was born at home in Breen, Colorado on August 2, 1913. She passed away at Mercy Medical, surrounded by family on January 2, 2016, she was 102 years old.
Ethel lived her whole life in Durango. She married George Boughan about 1930 in Durango and together they had 4 children. She loved the color red and listening to Elvis Presley. She experienced Durango by dining at Francisco’s, drinking Cokes at the El Rancho and the American Legion, shopping at the local thrift store and watching the first Spanish Trails Fiesta and parade.
Ethel is survived by her daughter, Blanche Payne; her sons Earl Boughan and Louie (Margaret) Boughan; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Johnny Boughan; grandchildren, Scott Payne, Hope Boughan, Albertson Linson.
On Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 2pm, there will be a graveside service at Greenmount Cemetery in Durango.
