Leonel Atencio

Leonel Erineo Atencio was born on July 19, 1962 to Dorothy & Orlando Atencio in Durango, CO. He passed away on December 31, 2020 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Denver, CO.

Leonel graduated in Ignacio. He moved to Grand Junction, where he married his high school sweetheart, Annie Armijo & together they had three sons. He loved to camp & fish whenever he got the chance. He worked in the Oil & Gas Industry, he was considered one of the best Casing Operators in the business.

He is preceded in death by his father, Orlando Atencio; grandparents: Alfonso Atencio & Mary Aguilar; Alcario Vigil & Jennie Marez.

He is survived by: his wife of 40 years, Annie; sons: Michael, Joshua & Adam; 9 grandsons, 3 granddaughters; 1 great grandson; mother, Dorothy Martinez; brothers: Michael (Pam) Atencio; Teddy (Vickie) Atencio & Anthony Ray (Lori) Atencio.
